2016 Jaguar XF – The BMW 5-Series slayer (Video)

13010859672069678453Jaguar has officially revealed the 2016 XF mid-size sedan. As you may have read, the car was showcased during the 2015 New York Auto Show and it was designed in order to output the BMW 5-Series, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Audi A6. The exterior of the 2016 Jaguar XF is mesmerizing. Even though you will say that the car looks like an enlarged XE, the car has its own personality and more than that it comes with a drag coefficient of 0.26 which is pretty low for a mid-size sedan.






Compared to the ongoing model, the new 2016 Jaguar XF is 7 mm shorter, 3 mm lower but it has a 2960 mm wheelbase which will put the British model in the top of the rear seat space ranking. According to Jaguar, the new mid-size sedan is 75% aluminum and as a result, the car is 190 kilograms lighter than the model it replaces. More than that, the torsional stiffness has increased by up to 28%.

Jaguar also says that the new XF is featuring an almost 50:50 weight distribution. On the handling and ride side you will have a double wishbone & Integral Link suspension that will work with the standard advanced passive damper technology. If you will pick the hotter versions of the XF than you might check the Adaptive Dynamics system on the option list. The system is able to automatically detect the optimum damper setting and you will have a totally new car.

Inside the cabin, the 2016 Jaguar XF has the all-new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system that uses a 10.2 inch touchscreen display which is powered by a quad-core processor and it is equipped with a solid state drive (SSD). More than that, the instrument cluster is a 12.3 inch TFT display while the sound system can deliver 825-watt from 17 speakers.

Under the hood, the 2016 Jaguar XF will be delivered with three different engines, a diesel one in two power variants and two gasoline units. On the diesel side you can pick the 2.0 Ingenium engine that can be delivered with 163 HP and 380 Nm or with 180 HP and 430 Nm peak of torque.
The second diesel engine is the V6 3.0 twin-turbo. It can deliver 300 HP and 700 Nm peak of torque. For the old-school gasoline lover guys, Jaguar has prepared the a supercharged V6 3.0 liter unit that can deliver 380 HP and 450 Nm peak of torque.





All the engine will be paired to an 8 speed automatic gearbox, but the Ingenium can be ordered with a 6 speed manual transmission.
